It is cheap, relatively safe, and tricky. There is no need to dress up in fireproof overalls and wear crash helmets, Cars must be legal and Mot'ed, and chunky tyres are banned, so it's not a cheque-book sport. Power is not an advantage, maneouverability is, so the minis predictably win.
